Proton targets 3,000 vehicle sales in Indonesia

Jakarta: Proton Holdings Bhd plans to sell up to 3,000 vehicles in Indonesia for the fiscal year ending March 31 to, 2010 (FY10) supported by Exora launched its new Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV).

Managing Director Datuk Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir said the Exora marked the first foray of the protons in the MPV segment in Indonesia, 60% of the total vehicle market in the country.

"We aim to sell 1,200 units in FY10 to the MPV. To date we have received 600 bookings," he said of the introduction of the Salon International 2009 Exora Indonesia yesterday.
